Funky Folds - Fan Card

I've joined a Funky Folds Blog Hop. This is a fan card I will be teaching at my June in person class too. Hope you have fun creating !! I did

🧭 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Create Your Card Base: Start with your 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" cardstock. Score at 4-1/4" and fold in half to create a standard card base.

  2. Cut the Front Triangle: With the card folded, measure 2-1/2" in from the top right corner of the card front along the top edge. Lightly mark this spot. Now cut diagonally from that mark down to the bottom right corner of the card front. This removes a triangle section and creates your fan shape.

  3. Prepare the Main DSP Triangle: Take the 5-1/4" x 4" DSP. Again, mark 2-1/2" in from the top right, and cut diagonally to the bottom right corner — just like you did with the card front. The left piece will nest perfectly on your angled card front. Adhere it in place.

  4. Create Your Fan Pieces: You’ll need three more pieces cut on a diagonal:

    • Cardstock (5-1/2" x 1-1/2")

    • DSP (5" x 1-1/4")

    • Coordinating DSP (4-3/4" x 2-1/4")

Cut each piece diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner to create angled strips.

  5. Assemble the Fan Layers:

    • Adhere the 4-3/4" x 2-1/4" DSP triangle to the triangle you originally cut off the card base. This becomes a layered fan piece.

    • Layer the 5" x 1-1/4" DSP triangle onto the 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" cardstock triangle.

  6. Attach Fan Pieces to Card Front: Position your layered pieces on the card front, overlapping slightly for a fan effect. (Refer to your sample photo for placement.)

  7. Add Inside Panel: Place the 5-1/4" x 4" white cardstock inside the card. This is the perfect place to stamp or write your sentiment.

If you are a visual crafter like I am, cut the pieces as stated and check out the finished card I've shown. It will come together nicely I'm sure !!

I used Secret Sea cardstock (https://www.stampinup.com/products/secret-sea-8-1-2-x-11-cardstock?demoid=2298768) for the base and accents, and Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper (https://www.stampinup.com/products/thoughtful-journey-6-x-6-15-2-x-15-2-cm-designer-series-paper?demoid=2298768) for my coordinating layers, but feel free to use your own favorite color palette and patterns!
